Christian Horner has played down fears Red Bull might be suffering a fundamental problem with its 2010 car.
Mark Webber lost his front row starting place in Canada due to an unscheduled gearbox change penalty, and his team-mate Sebastian Vettel finished the Montreal race with a gearbox problem that prevented him from pushing to the limit.

After the race Vettel insisted there was “no reason to panic” about the problems and it has now emerged that he will use the same gearbox in Valencia, even though a change during the weekend will result in five-place grid penalty.

Team boss Horner told Germany’s Auto Bild: “They were both different problems. We do not have a fundamental problem with the car.”

Red Bull is also hoping to get back ahead of McLaren in Valencia, having spent the past few weeks refining its F-duct.

“We expect some new parts and a step forward,” said Vettel.
