MELBOURNE, Australia
— It has been 20 years since Aussie performance outfit Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) launched its longest-running and most successful nameplate as a full-time model in June 1990, powered by a 241-horsepower/295 pound-feet version of the 5.0-liter V8 found in Holden’s VN Commodore at the time.

Now, to celebrate, HSV has announced a limited-edition model with a host of free extras that will go on sale across its national dealer network from late this month.

The limited-edition ClubSport comes with HSV performance suspension, special 20-inch Pentagon alloy wheels and leather seat trim for no additional cost. Also included is a unique rear window decal featuring a modern take on HSV’s original CS ClubSport badge from the first VN Commodore-based model.

HSV will build just 100 units of the ClubSport anniversary edition which will be priced the same as the standard model: the equivalent of $56,690 for the manual and $58,300 for the automatic.

Just 410 examples of the first ClubSport were produced priced then at today’s equivalent of $28,285 (manual) and $28,975 (auto). Its 5.0-liter V8 was replaced by a version of the VTII Commodore’s 5.7-liter LS1, before the 6.0-liter LS2 and the current 6.2-liter LS3 engines appeared.
