Dodge has unveiled the special edition 2010 Mopar Challenger.

Based on the Challenger R/T, the Mopar edition features a Brilliant Black paint job, accent stripes (available in Blue, Red or Silver), a ventilated T/A-style hood, black-chrome trim, and 20-inch gloss-black wheels.

Inside, the cabin has Katzkin leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with baseball-style stitching, Mopar shift handles (T-handles for automatics and Pistol Grips for manuals), and a serialized dash plaque.

Other goodies include front and rear strut-tower braces, a unique engine cover, a car cover, and a “limited-edition sketch of the vehicle signed by Chrysler Group design chief Mark Trostle.”

Under the hood, power is provided by a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine which has been outfitted with a cold-air intake. While the company declined to release performance data, the standard engine produces 372 hp (277 kW / 377 PS) and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque.

According to Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, “Our Mopar ’10 Challenger is a collaboration of two iconic brands with tremendous heritage. Dodge put the heart into this Challenger and Mopar added the soul. The result is a unique, special-edition car that only we can offer.”

Currently available for pre-order, the Mopar Challenger is priced from $38,000 (automatic) and $39,000 (manual). Production will be limited to 500 units and the first cars will be delivered in August.
