Bentley plans to introduce a new Azure Convertible in 2012. The new two-door drop-top version of the Mulsanne will be the next addition to Bentley’s convertible lineup. Bentley Motors Limited premiered a large, four-seater convertible called the Bentley Azure. It was originally built in a Bentley Continental platform, and was changed with a Bentley Arnage platform, along with other changes such as an improved engine.
The 2012 Bentley Azure will be powered by the same 6.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine as the sedan producing an impressive 505 HP and 752 pound-feet of torque. It will allow the Azure to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5 seconds hitting a top speed of 184 mph. Also, like with the Mulsanne, the next Azure will use the same eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The Azure will most likely offer various different varieties of wood veneer trim and will feature bold styling, two doors, and a canvas roof. While the photo above is a rendering from the InsideLine photoshop, but the new Azure sure seems an interesting piece of work that will give Bentley a boost in a highly competitive market heating up with fresh vehicles.
