Fiat has announced the new Fiat Freemont model based on Dodge Journey which will debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 2011. It is the first Fiat vehicle to come out of the partnership, with the Chrysler Group. The new model goes on sale at Europe in the 2nd half of 2011. Initially it will be available in only front wheel drive with manual transmission; but later it will be made available in all wheel drive with 170 horse powers turbo diesel and automatic transmission.

All Freemont models will come fitted with seven seats, three zones automatic climate control, keyless entry, fog lights and touch screen radio. The upscale model will also feature 17 inch alloy wheels, SD cards, DVD readers, Bluetooth connectivity, parking sensors, automatic head lamps and roof rails.

The Freemont is based on refreshed Dodge Journey with visible design changes and Fiat styled alloy wheels and front grille. It will be offered in 2 trim levels. The tier pressure monitoring system and the safety air bags for the 7 seats will give you peace of mind and effective protection from accidents. The steering wheel too has been endowed with high end control technology.

The lock braking systems, brake assists, electronic stability program, hill holder and electronic roll mitigation is all set to make the beauty a class apart. The automobile production will take place in the Mexico plant at Toluca where initially 500 pieces will be produced for the US market.
