The awakening of Toyota’s Scion brand is with the redesigned 2011 Scion tC. The car is targeted to the generation Y, the rich and affluent men who have liquid cash and who love to flaunt their cars.

The exterior has a good deal of masculine DNA. With its sharper and more angular fascia, it projects an aggressive youth. The company boasts that the tC has an ‘entry level Lexus’ interior. The steering wheel is worth mentioning, so is the stereo option. It boasts of 300 watts of power and eight speakers for the surround sound feel. The steering with its flat bottom gives it a sporty look.

The wheels are enviable. The 2.5 litres cylinder engine pushes out 180 horsepower. The tC is a sports car and when it hits the road it’s a sight to watch. Toyota has fine tuned the performance and handling of the new Scion. It can easily tackle a rough stretch and offers smooth ride to the passengers. The body roll is also minimized. The rear seat leg room is great.

With safety as its top priority it has eight air bags installed inside the car, and tyre pressure monitoring. It surely will give its driver the entertainment that he wants when he hits the road. This car with its machismo is sure to be a favourite among the young, and the sporty look adds up to its X factor.

All we have to do is wait and watch how Scion’s competitors react and whether Scion now comes up with a feminine car to capture both the sexes. Though the funky looking xB model has the most recalling value, it is tC that is delivering the sales numbers for Toyota. Therefore, Toyota is counting on garnering popularity for the 2011 Scion tC, to seriously foray into the youth market.
