The French car maker Renault is on its way to launch its products in India. To walk the ramp we will have nearly 5 models but the first to do so will be the SUV Dacia Duster. The Dacia Duster will be of both Diesel and Petrol. The two different varieties will be of 4×2 and 4×4.

The Renault plant which already exists near Chennai will be doing the assembling job only. The Romanian plant in Piteseti will be manufacturing and exporting it to India. This strong SUV along with its undiluted capacity is well appreciated in developed markets. The Dacia Duster provides comfortable seating arrangement for 5 occupants. The boot capacity is about 475 liters and that goes on to show hoe very spacious it is.

The Dacia Duster is a front wheel drive with the engine in front. The car has 4 cylinders with 4 valves each, which makes it 16 valves in all. The engine capacity is 62.56 KW or 85BHP. This 4 door vehicle with 5 gears weighs about 1159.836kg. It will give its competitors a run for its money when it gets launched for 7-8lakhs. It will be the cheapest breed for the company. However the company has not announced its actual price and speculation is that it may go up-to 14 lakhs too. Dacia Duster is a new model and its fresh looks will always win the hearts of people. Although the Dacia Duster is based on the Logan platform yet its looks are different and much better than most SUV’s. The Indian customer will welcome this new SUV with open arms as the running cost, as well as the total price of the vehicle is economical and the gorgeous looks are a beauty to the eye. Once the car is brought into the Indian market the Dacia Duster will be competing with models like Mahindra Scorpion, Mahindra Xylo and Tata Safari. It is yet to be seen who attracts the Indian customers and for how long. The Renault Chairman Carlos Ghosn has said that with the growing sales, he hopes that India will rank 11th with ’20 spots’ all over the country. So keep your check books ready and let wait and watch.
