The 911 Carrera (997) has inspired Porsche to develop 10 electrical vehicles boasting of 3 power trains which are absolutely different and which will all go through ‘ real life situations’ test . Siemens AG, the great German company has also partnered with Porsche tuner RUF Automobile and this breakthrough will be unveiled in the 1st half of 2011.

The gear box of the Porsche is the one which will help in the reduction in speed, and the power train also boasts of a 180 KW electric motor and a lithium- ion battery of 29 KW. The performance is up to the mark giving you a 150 km driving range, the top speed delivered is 250 km/hr. This is the First prototype.

The 2nd one is based on the concept of a turn motor which reached a whooping 100 km/hr in 5 seconds along with 200 km/hr. There are 2 electrical motors which are synchronized delivering 280 KW. It also has a 2 speed transmission which is automatic.

Now comes the 3rd prototype, which is a mixture of the 2nd prototype along with a heavy duty torque. The car has 2 separate gear boxes and each of them gives power to the rear wheel. The driving range and the acceleration are kept same, where as there is a dip in the top speed delivering a 180km/hr.

The German Federal Ministry of the Environment is also involved in this breath taking process and the result from the real life situation test will be handed over to them. These technological break through prototypes are all set to give their best shot. But there is absolutely no doubt that these 3 prototypes will come out with flying colours as Porsche and Siemens are one of the world’s most reputed companies who believe in delivering the best.
