Kia Naimo is the electrically powered SUV that debuted in the 2011 edition of Seoul Auto Show. The car has a distinct look and feel of the Korean culture and tradition. The vehicle beautifully blends the Korean heritage with the cutting edge innovative technologies. The car with its different type of look did create a stir at the auto fair and managed to draw the attention of the car lovers. The simple yet solid lines on the car exterior manage to give it a muscular and big look. The car is spacious and can easily seat four adults inside. It measures exactly 3.9 m along the length, it has a width of 1.844m and the height is 1.589m. The wheel base of the car is big enough, and measures 2,647m.

The car is environment friendly as it doesn’t emits any carbon di oxide or carbon mono oxide fumes to the atmosphere. The car easily achieves this feast as it runs on electricity. The vehicle uses the single unit permanent magnet type synchronous motor that is capable of delivering 80Kw and 280 Nm torque. The motor is connected to the twin pack Li ion battery which is rated to be 27 kWh. The polymer based battery pack is conveniently placed below the floor of the boot.

The vehicle is able to cover a distance of 124 miles or 200 Km on a single charge. The maximum velocity of the electric car is 93 mph or 150 Km/h. According to the Korean car manufacturer the car recovers eighty percent of its battery power in twenty five minutes under fast charging cycles of 50kW. The normal charging cycle of 3.3 Kw will require a charging for five and half hours. Interestingly the conventional mechanical wipers are replaced in the car with air jets.
