In accordance with the trends of the current time, SsangYong came up with their own concept electric vehicle, named KEV2. The model was displayed at the Seoul Cat show in this year 2011.

The KEV2 is completely electric car which is considerably based on the Korando car model that was recently launched. The KEV2 is the unique combination of the brand’s SUV designing expertise and the futuristic plans for all the electrical cars. The unveiling of the KEV2 indicates that the plans for electric cars are back on track for SsangYong as well as the fact that the company is on a path of strong economic resurgence under the new ownership of Mahindra and Mahindra. The company was protected from bankruptcy by the court only a short time ago and the turnaround is truly commendable.

The designing of the KEV2 is done to give it an aggressive appearance. The alloy wheels and side vents add glamour to its style. The car designing is focused to attract the younger buyers. There is a 120 Kw motor that drives the car and it gets it power from a 35kWh lithium ion battery bank. The stored power on the battery bank is enough to propel the car a distance of 180 Km. The maximum speed attained by the car is 150 Km/h. The complete charging time of the battery bank is 8 to 10 hours from any conventional electrical charging point.
