Peugeot has released images of their all HX1 Hybrid4 MPV that they will launch in the Frankfrut auto show to be held in the month of September 2011. This new HX 1 is designed in MPV concept and is equipped with six seater facility.

Regarding the appearance of the model, the makers have beautified the model with a brand new “floating” front grille inspired from 508 model. Among the other special features, include the seven-spoke alloy wheels which looks like turbine blades when the wheels are not moving. This new concept from Peugeot is called “Metamorphosis”, the Greek word that means the car’s capacity to adapt to various driving situations as per passengers’ requirement.

This car is equipped with four sport “half-scissor” doors that is very smooth in operation and assists comfortable access to the cabin. The cabin of the car can comfortably accommodate six passengers in three rows of seats. Interior of the cabin has been beautified with special materials like, natural oak with inlaid fiber optics, brushed metal and leather has been used for covering the seats and steering wheel. Peugeot has also furnished the cabin with special gadgets like touch-sensitive screens and a marble-decorated console placed in the center and also a minibar and coffee machine for relaxation.

The car’s internal combustion mechanism is 204HP 2.2-liter diesel engine linked to achieve a 6-speed auto transmission. This gives full power to the front wheels, and the rear-mounts on 70 kW (95HP) automatic motor moves the rear wheels, thus it functions like any four wheel drive car. The makers have improvised its mechanism with hybrid technology by installing lithium-ion batteries with a plug in charger that can be charged with a normal 240V socket.

Peugeot said that the average fuel consumption of this car is 3.2 lt/100 km (73.4 US mpg or 88.2 UK mpg) and emits 83.0 g/km CO2.
