In the month of April 2011, the Kias premiered 2012 Soul’s upgraded model in the Auto Show that held at New York. Today after few months of introduction the makers have decided to introduce the price of the car. The all new 2012 Soul’s small crossover version is introduced with some changes in the market. For better performance this model is upgraded with a fresh pair of powerful engine that is connected with six speed transmission.

As far as the pricing is concerned, the entry level Soul that is fitted with a 1.6-liter capacity engine and a gearbox that works manually, is priced at $13,900 or $14,650 after adding an additional $750 as destination charges. The car is also offered with automatic gearbox. This automatic model starts at $15,700 and is finally available at $16,450 including the destination and service charges applicable in New York.

The company has yet to disclose the price of their all new flagship Soul model which is upgraded with a 2.0 liter four – cylinder engine. These updated models are highly fuel economic by performance. The new 1.6 liter unit perfectly reduces the emission of gasoline injection system and records an emission of 138 horses.

According to the company spokesperson, this facelift version of six- speed manual or automatic transmission editions with 1.6 liter engine perfectly delivers about 34mpg while driven on highway and 28mpg while driven along the city roads. The latest 2.0-liter capacity engine can successfully produce about 164 HP, and with an increased 22 HP over the earlier editions. These models will also be available in both six –speed emission capacity in manual and automatic mechanism.

According to the estimation made by Kia, the new two liter engine can produce save about 27 mpg if driven within the city roads and about 33 mpg while driven across the highways. This is same for both in the automatic and manual transmission models.
