The Japanese automaker Mazda has decided to launch its all new 2012 CX5 this year in the Frankfurt Motor show. But with the kind of excitement it has generated, the automakers have unveiled a preview of the car till the formal launch takes place. The new car is a kind of crossover SUV having some attractive features and the latest SKYACTIV technology. It is designed according to the design philosophy of ‘KODO’ meaning the ‘soul of motion’.

The company spokesperson has said the brand new car will be launched with both the diesel and petrol engine variants that will cater to the variety of consumer requirements. The automobile will also consist of enhanced transmission equipments and a freshly designed body and a new chassis. These new additions will result in a positive driving experience, enhanced safety and greater fuel efficiency.

The new SKYACTIV technology is available only in the European specification model as of now, and the incorporation of the same in the other models will be pondered upon later as per the demand, mentioned the automaker. This European spec model will be having the Mazda’s SKYACTIV -2.0 petrol engine and the SKYACTIV –D 2.2 diesel engine for the gasoline and diesel variants of the vehicle respectively. The emission rate of the vehicle is also greatly controlled to be set below 120 grams for a one kilometer travel. The reduced carbon di-oxide emission rate is another example of the substantial design changes that have gone into the car, which will definitely win the accolades of the environmentalists.

Apart from the 2012 CX5, Mazda will also set to reveal the facelift version of the 2012 Mazda3 in the motor show of Frankfurt. This new enhanced version of Mazda3 has also undergone exterior, interior and design changes to add to the efficiency and appearance.
