The newest rumor that we hear about South Korean Company, Kia’s RWD GT concept car would finally make it into production. This is indeed the company’s first attempt at a rear wheel drive model.

The car is the most powerful being turbocharged on 3.3L V6 engine, which delivers an output of390HP and 534Nm of torque, which is sent to rear wheels with the help of an8-speed automatic gearbox.

The development of the concept had begun even less than one year ago, back in November 2011. Butit’s European design team had been considering a rear-wheel drive car for a while – something that dates back to before this car had been even thought of.

The heads of Kia feel that the version of the Kia’s car would not only be targeted at the South Korean audience, but at an international market as well. This means that Europe and America would get a taste of their fine car. But this also hints heavily at the fact that there is a production of the version out there.

When questioned about the RWD GT making it into production, the Chief Designer, Peter Scheyer, had certainly hoped that would be the case. The series takes its inspiration from the 2007 Gee concept, and iconic GTs of the 1970s. Like clothes fashion, car fashion is once again rising from the dead.

The man who had transformed the face of Kia has been spotted to say that this car i.e. the RWDGT is certainly one which would make sense to get into production. Because, it has four seats, a good enough luggage space and quite a sensible layout –something that an average family looks for in a car!

Kia has even stated that they might be bringing out a production of RWD salon soon. The designer ends on the note of saying that Kia ought to be making cars like these anyway.
