The launch of its S 1000 RR superbike back in 2009 by BMW had created waves of awe and wonder all over the world. This very elegant and very convenient bike had been brought out by a company that has been mainly known for indulging in touring and adventure machines. Not only was the company i.e. BMW a competitor against the best productions from Japan and Italy but also it has had a reputation for being a leader in the world in terms of power and technology. This bike had also been brought forth at a very reasonable price. The bike had done quite a steady business since the time it had been first introduced.

Therefore one is going to be extremely careful about how a successful super bike like the S 1000 RR is updated. Rash changes cannot be implemented in a fine bike like this one. BMW has chosen keep the same wheel with its 2012 S 1000 RR, and bike lovers certainly are not complaining about this decision. The superbike is still going to produce a peak of 193 horsepower, the engine that had originally been used is going to stay the same expect for a remapped throttle curve that supposedly said to improve low-speed performance along with an additional riding mode: Rain, Sport, Race and Slick.

Nevertheless we have come know that there have been a lot of suspension updates. Both the front and rear suspenders have had their geometry adjusted, and so have the spring rates. Structural updates on the superbike are a new forged and milled fork bridge plus a reconfigured air passage through the steering head. The electronics package has of course been “refined” for 2012 too.

Bike reviewers and bike lovers alike have indeed been extremely pleased with the color schemes which BMW has presented for this superbike. Apparently only the colors the red, white and blue motif that made up BMW’s Motorrad Motorsport package were what had attracted the bike lovers. However now that there are more attractive options like Racing Red with Alpine White and Black, Sapphire Black Metallic and Bluefire, bike lovers would flock around just to check out the different hues of the superbike. And when we speak about the changes implanted, how can we forget the revised RR logo…??
