Once again over beloved car spies have discovered a car being test run in Germany, and we have proof to believe that the car BMW is going to bring before us the 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, is the one that has been spotted. There have been a number of daily testing sessions, we are told by our sources.

The ‘once upon a time’ concept car has now metamorphosed into the new 6er Gran coupe. This is going to be a four-door coupe, and is going to go along the same lines of the ‘backbone’ platform, and that would outdo the current 5 and 7 series as well as the 5 GT. This car would be also offer us the same mix of the six and eight cylinder petrol and diesel engine, just like the other cars in the series. It would also contain an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

This particular BMW is going to be a cross between a sporty car and a 4-door coupe style. It would possess the joint abilities of the GT and a sport car. The roof this car is also going to be 100mm lower than the current 7series models, and the rear quarters of the car would have slightly more restrictions.

The wheelbase measures 116.8 inch and sits on a 74.9 inch wide track. As an effort to make it look really sporty, BMW engineers lowered the car by 3.5 inches when compared to the 5 Series sedan (54 inches). At 197.1 inches overall, the 6 Series Gran Coupe is 2 inches longer than a Mercedes CLS-Class.

Power train options in this car are going to be the same as the 6 Series lineup: a 3.0 liter twin-scroll turbo with and the 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8. .

In order to keep the distribution of weight equal, the four-door uses aluminum for the front hood and doors, thermoplastics for the front fenders, and SMC plastic for the trunk lid. Just like the other top-line BMWs, a full suite of telematics and driver assistance systems are provided along with the car, in order to ensure happy and safe driving.
