Now that the craze for the Frankfurt Motor Show is dying down, and we have our heads filled with new concepts, it is time to go a little back in time. Remember all those model concepts that had debuted in the Paris Motors Show last year? Well, now it is time to see which of them have actually made it into production. We get to hear that the Peugeot 4007 now has a successor by the name of 2012 Peugeot 4008.

It had debuted as the HR1 concept back in the aforementioned Paris Motor Show 2010. The Mitsubishi ASX platform is what the car has been based on.

The 4008 is going to come into Europe as only a 4X4 production, along with having three drive modes: 2X4, 4X4 and LOCK (that is a permanent all wheel, we are told).

Engines on the petrol side of this car would be the 1.6i with 115 PS (85 kW / 114 hp) and 152 Nm (112 lb-ft) of torque, and the 2.0i with 150 PS (113 kW / 148 hp) and 198 Nm (146 lb-ft) of torque. Both of which is available in a five-speed manual gearbox.

But if you are opting for diesel, then it would include the 1.6 HDi with 110 PS (82 kW / 109 hp) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque and the 1.8 HDi with 150 PS (110 kW / 148 hp) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. The diesel is available in standard with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The car is all set to make its debut into the world market in the Geneva Motor Show next year (another event which car lovers are eagerly waiting for) and then the car would be going out for sales in late 2012.

So we can hardly wait for the Geneva Motor Show come up already, especially after watching the mind blowing concepts displayed in the Frankfurt Motor Show this year.
