As announced by Honda that the 2012 CR-V will reach the Japanese market at first and will go for sale from 2nd December, almost two week ahead of the model’s launch in US which is scheduled for 15th December and about a year before it reaches the European showroom. This new model has made its appearance earlier this month in the Los Angeles Auto Show. This will appear in Japan in two flavours namely the 24G and the 20G.

The 20G front wheel drive is equipped with a 2.0 L engine with gasoline which produces 150HP at 6200rpm and 191Nm torque at 4300 rpm linked to a continuously variable transmission. This gives a fuel efficiency of 14.4km/l on Japan’s JC08 cycle and 15.4 km/l on 10-15 driving cycle.

The other 25G is available with a all-wheel drive and a 2.4 l gasoline unit which is rated to be 190HP at 7000 rpm and 222Nm at 4400rpm associated with a five speed automatic transmission. With all new features the new model is all set to hit the Japanese market. The Japanese customers will be the privileged one as they will be the first one to receive the fourth generation CR-V. Other details will be available as the model launches in the market. It is expected that it will come out successfully and will satisfy its customers with a sale of around 18000 CR-Vs annually only in Japan. Nothing can be said till its launch but we can hope for its success. Let’s see how the new model progresses and how it performs in the market. So All the best!!!
