It is not uncommon for an automaker to take lesser risks when a vehicle becomes crucial for his success. The same can be said for Toyota’s updated version of Camry 2012. However, this was not the case with the Ford Flex. Despite of having polarising design it was originally shooting for 100,000 units of Flex every year. But a lot less was sold than that. So looking forward for an increased volume the Flex is being updated for 2013. In this context, the 2013 model bids adieu to the present model’s razor blade grill while welcoming a sharpened grill attached with revamped headlights.

The blue oval logo is also removed from the front with only the Flex badge. The exterior design ends with a dual exhaust, rear appliqué, a refreshed colours and alloy wheels. Now moving towards the interior part, the 2013 model has a redesigned dashboard, a steering wheel and seat which are newly trimmed. It also has Myford Touch system with eight inch screen in the centre and two 4.2 inch screens in the cluster.

The new model brings a new version of the 3.5 litre V6 engine. Presently the V6 is rated at 285HP and 255lb which means an increment of 23HP and 13lb respectively from the earlier one. According to Ford, the new model 3.5L V6 is projected so as to deliver better fuel economy with 18mpg in the city and 25 mpg in highway.

Finally but not the least a new appearance is added to the Limited and SEL models with mirrors and two tone roofs, leather seats and door panels along with various interior upgrades. With all these makeover it is expected that it will run successfully all over breaking past records. With all hopes this new version is to be launched in 2013.
