It is hardly after a week that Geely’s Emgrand EC7 has become the first Chinese model to have received a four star safety rating out of a five and it has already been announced by the owner of Volvo that the new model is almost ready to hit the UK market by the end of 2012. According to the Chinese automaker, it has come to an agreement with the Manganese Bronze Holdings plc in UK to become their distributor officially for the UK in order to sale new Geely cars, supplying of parts, to bring up a dealer network and to provide with an after-sales service.

Skoda Octavia Emgrand EC7 will be the first one to enter the British market. This model will be available in both five door hatchback as well as four door saloon options with a choice to be made from 1.8 and 1.5 l petrol engines. According to Geely, all the models would be well equipped carrying a five year and 100,000 miles warranty with its price starting from £10,000.

In the words of Matthew Cheyne, the Market Development Director, they are to start with a blank paper along with the circulation of the passenger cars in the UK market which would be the first Western European country to have received them. He further added that they will widen their range as soon as possible, probably a new model range every year for atleast the next four or five years. At present they are not quantity oriented but would definitely increase their sales as their customer become accustomed to their products and numerous models are further added to the range. In other words their priority in the launch of the new model is to have a representative network wanting to work with them while delivering customer satisfaction.
