The Japanese automaker’s latest EV concept vehicle, the PIVO 3 concept has been revealed by Nissan in the Tokyo Motor Show. This model is somewhat a more realistic EV but some technology featured in this seems to be far away from the production model functionality. It is just below 3000 mm in length and there are three seats in a 1+2 layout. This concept is run on electricity and is featured by wire control technology which will allow layout freedom and downsize some mechanical parts. It uses in-wheel motors which give its wheels a greater freedom to move and some more space in the vehicle chassis.

One of the innovative technologies in this is the Automated Valet Parking which helps in parking the PIVO 3 automatically in parking lots. While waiting for the driver to feed excess power it can automatically recharge itself. This car can also be called a smartphone where it returns to pick up its driver. Cabin technology includes the Robotic Agent; the interior is decorated in leather with a silver hued trim in EV Blue and Snow White colour and a computerised assistant to the driver.

These concepts are made keeping in mind the needs of people in large metropolitan areas. All the eight concepts address different communities, different needs, different lifestyle and different markets. It seems that all automakers from Toyota to Nissan has something in store for urban zero emission travelling. It is believed that in this changing world mobility plays a vital role in making it better. These models have attracted customers and let’s see how it performs and whether it comes to the expectation of its customers. We have to wait to hear more and to see whether this new model is able to fulfil the various needs of people for whom it has been made.
