Mazda has made its announcement that the production of the diesel version of the new CX-5 crossover will be commenced at Ujina plant which is near the Hiroshima headquarter of the company. The new SUV will be available in Europe and Japan this spring with the other markets following in early 2013. The CX-5 in Mazda’s range is the first model which is powered by new Skyactiv-D 2.2 liter diesel engine. As per the Japanese company, the new model is the first diesel which meets Japan’s Post New Long Term Regulations standard emission without an expensive nitrogen oxide after treatment as well as Euro 6 of Europe.

The diesel engine will be available in two versions which give an output of 175 and 15o HP, accelerating the new model from 0 to 100km/hr in 9.2 and 10 seconds respectively. In the more powerful state it gives an average consumption of 4.5 li/100 km in European cycle emitting 109g/km of CO2. So let us see the outcome of this model. We hope this will satisfy its customers with its performance. For more details we have to wait longer as these features are yet to be disclosed.
