The electric carmaker who is named after one of the original thinker and inventor of all times has introduced a fresh CUV which is called the Model X and is based on chassis and running gear of the S sedan. As per Tesla, the latest creation combines MPVs utility with the styles of SUVs which offers an all wheel drive option and seat for seven passengers in three rows of seats. The Model X which is of 195.9 inch long becomes complete with a pair of back side doors which rises up and hangs like wings of bird which signifies the name ‘Falcon Wings’. According to Tesla, it can open up and out even in the narrowest parking areas. He further added that one can easily step in the new model but cannot climb it.

This new model is featured with three rows of seats allowing seven passengers in it with two trunks, one in the front and the other at the back. The passengers in the front get a touchscreen of 17 inch in the centre console which can control most of the functions of the interior. This model is offered with a battery of 60 or 85 kWh which is mounted beneath the chassis. Whereas the other Model S is featured with a back wheel drive. The new model is available with twin Motor all wheel drive optionally. The second motor raises its torque by 50 % and combining with the huge battery pack it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in only 5 seconds.

The new model is expected to be in production by late 2013 and its first delivery beginning early 2014. It will be ranged comparable to the other Model S which is of $67,400 for the version of 60 kWh and $77,400 for 85 kWh variant which does not include federal tax credit of $7,500.
