Ferrari has at last unveiled the first photos and other details of the successor of 599 which is officially named F12 berlinetta after two years of spy photos. Described as the most powerful and high performance road car that has ever been launched, the mid front engined model is equipped with a 6.2 liter 65 degree V12 engine which is naturally aspirated and produces 740 HP translating to an output of 118 Hp/liter. Torque in it reaches to 690Nm and 80 percent of which is present at just 2500 rpm and redline at 8700 rpm. The transmission is F1 double clutch unit that has gear ratios which are closer and are developed specifically for the performance of the car. The F12 berlinetta boasts ratio of weight to power of only 2.1 kg/HP. Fuel consumption in it is reduced by 30 percent with only 350 g/km emissions of CO2. So far as performance is concerned, this model gains speed from 0 t0 100 km/hr in 3.1 seconds and 0 to 200 km/hr in 8.5 seconds.

The design of the body for the model comes from the collaboration between Pininfarina and Ferrari Styling center. The cabin is optimised surrounding the driver for maximum ergonomics and all the vital functions are within reach. In the centre of the dashboard are the new carbon fibre and air vents of aluminium. An aluminium spaceframe and the bodyshell of 12 various kinds of alloys has been used which allows a 20 percent rise in structural rigidity while minimising its weight to 1525 kg which is 70 kg less than the earlier model. It is to make its debut next week at the Geneva Motor Show.
