After the performance was increased on the models like the X3 F25 and the 1M Coupe, the Germans from Hartge shifted their attention to the 5-Series F10. The kit in this case applies to the 4 cylinder diesel engine of 2.0 liter inside the 525d and 525XDrive models which delivers 218 HP at 4400 rpm and a torque of 250 Nm between 1500 rpm and 2500 rpm as basic. Due to some engineering tricks, Hartge is able to raise the output to 258 at 4400 rpm and a torque of 530 Nm at 1600 rpm and leaves emissions of CO2 unchanged at 134 to 140 g/km and with the tuner which claims that fuel economy has improved by .5 liters/100km. Due to this new output the new model can accelerate from 80 to 180 km/hr in 15.91 seconds and can hit a top speed of 240 km/hr.
Hartge has published a video showing the performance of the kit on the Autobahn. Other details on this are limited and for more details we have to wait a bit further. Let us see what more and what new features come our way. Whatever it is we will get to know all details very soon.
