It is an electric sports car that is based on Plus 8 designed in collaboration with the specialists of British technology, Radshape and Zytek through which Morgan desires to test the reaction of the market before taking into production. The model makes use of an electric motor which is capable of delivering 160 bhp and a torque of 380 Nm and is backed by a battery of lithium ion. The motor is joined to a gearbox of 5 speed manual which will accelerate the car fro 0 to 100 km/hr in 6 seconds and will acquire a speed of 115 mph.

Steve Morris, the operations director of Morgan has said that they wanted to experiment how much fun one can have from an electric sports car and for this reason they have built up such a model. The Plus E combines the traditional look of the company with high tech construction and a powertrain which produces substantial torque at any speed. According to him, it will be a fantastic car with manual gearbox which enables to increase the touring range as well as driver involvement. Talking about the manual transmission, Neil Heslington, managing director of Zytek Automative, has explained that a transmission of multi speed allows the motor to time operating the sweet spot where it can use energy more efficiently and particularly in the high road. It also allows one to give low gear for fast acceleration and will make it engaging for keen drivers. So let us now wait to see the outcome of this model, how it performs and weather it is able to meet the expectations of the company or not.
