A new hot Dodge Dart, which is the racing version of the compact sedan of the Chrysler Group is to come soon. It would compete in the Global RallyCross Championship Series which is to be held this summer. Travis Pastrana, the four times Rally America champion and x Games Gold medallist for 17 times will be the pilot of the new car. The announcement was made by Dodge at the Hard Rock Café in Detroit on Monday. As per Reid Bigland, the boss of Dodge, racing is a vital part of the heritage and it embodies their spirit of competition and as such they are excited to announce the new Dodge Dart. As has been figured out by having a look at the teaser image, the GRC is a different beast as compared to the stock model. This model designed in collaboration with the SRT Motorsports, it is equipped with a purpose built turbocharged four pot of 2.0 liter which produces an output of 600 HP and above 550 lb ft torque to all four wheels.

David Bailey, the Senior Engineering Manager for Motorsports has said that the sport is very exciting and the on-track action can be cruel on the part of the driver and the car. The new model is lightweight and is featured with a powerful motor.
