The Kia Sorento crossover utility vehicle popularly known as CUV, which is made at Kia Motors’ US in West Point, Georgia enters its third generation model which is supported by a list of accolades and sales landmark. Since its launch, it has offered consumers a value oriented and refined CUV with efficiency in fuel and class leading power while producing a full roster of comfort and convenient features along with an impressive collection of safety equipments. The utility and functionality of the 2013 model are boosted by adjusting its content to suit the needs of the consumer. Among the improvements made, the latest model brings in the leather seating for mid level EX trim and a third row seat for LX V6 trim. In addition to all this, the base LX trim offers the optional UVO which is powered by Microsoft voice activated infotainment system that is based on the Windows Embedded Automotive platform. Available later is a new, more robust LX Convenience Plus Package which will include diver’s seat of eight way power, steering wheel wrapped in leather and shift knob, a First Aid kit for the consumers of family minded.

This new model takes up a unibody design with its ability to seat comfortably up to seven passengers and represents a CUV which is the correct size for the consumers of today. With a length of 183.9 inches and width of 74.2 inches, the new model offers a spacious interior while providing a compact size of the exterior. Displaying the wraparound headlamps and the signature grille, Kia Sorento offers a sleek and aggressive stance. This new model is equipped with swept back lines with an angled window line, fog lamps and round nose, large flared back headlamps, while view from the back offers same forceful attitude with round back and tail lamps that is set within the lift gate at the back. This new model will be available in EX, LX and SX trim levels.

Moving towards the exterior, this model offers alloy wheels of 17 inch with tires of 235/65R17 and body colour and wheel mouldings, outside mirrors which are heated along with LED turn signal indicators. The Ex trim has a five spoke hyper finished wheel of 18 inch that is outfitted with tires of 235/60R18 plus fog lamps, rear spoiler and roof rails. The new model gives a spacious feeling with five and seven passenger seats making it more versatile. In addition to comfortable ride, an impressive technology features also come which include an AM/FM/CD/MP3/SAT audio system, auxiliary and USB audio input for connecting MP3 players, Bluetooth connectivity.

Standard features of the LX trim includes air conditioner, a telescopic steering wheel with audio control that is integrated, driver’s window function which can be adjusted automatically, illuminated vanity mirror, three row seating etc. The EX trim provides more standard features that are well appointed while SX trims add sophistication to it. Able to suit any driver, the new model offers consumer specific package options. For the LX trim, the Convenience Package include the UVO infotainment system with a display of back view camera, roof rails, an automatic dimming mirror, front seats and smog lamps. Later, a new package will be offered and moving towards the Premium Plus Package, it adds a power passenger seat and lots of other amenities. It offers three engines viz a 2.4 liter GDI engine of four cylinder that delivers 191 hp and a torque of 181 pound feet with a fuel efficiency of 32 mpg/highway, 3.5 liter V6 engine which provides 276 HP and 248 Nm torque and a 2.4 liter multi-port injected engine of four cylinder delivering 175 HP and 169 pound feet torque. Like all other models of Kia, the 2013 Sorento is featured with standard safety equipments. All the trims are equipped with driver and front airbags, seat mounted airbags at the sides, side curtain airbags and active headrests at the front etc.
