Volvo has finally decided to present the 2013 V40 officially, as if the images and videos of the new premium hatchback have not been seen. The car however, does not surprise anyone further but with the official statement of Volvo, one has an idea so far as the motorisation of the model is concerned. As per the company, the new model will appear with everything in company’s arsenal, from the first diesel engine with the emission level of CO2 at 94 g/km to the T5 turbocharged petrol unit delivering 254 Hp and allowing to accelerate from 0 to 62 in 6.7 seconds. The engine versions will be equipped with brake energy regeneration and start stop technology fitted to either manual or automatic gearbox.

This model is designed to compete with Audi A3 and the BMW 1 Series and due to this it is the first new model which is developed according to the humancentric, Designed Around You strategy. As it is charged with an outstanding set of high technology features it will be a headache for its toughest competitors. This model features an expressive Scandinavian look and it also promises class leading driving dynamics which is due to the chassis designed to give it a connected experience. As Stefan Jacoby has explained that the V range model is equipped with a blend of safety, design and versatility due to the input that has come from customers. It is full of features which the modern day buyers want from luxury cars. Some safety features include Pedestrian Detection along with full Auto Brake, which is the first pedestrian airbag in the world, lane keeping aid and the Park assist pilot which makes it easy for parallel parking. It has been planned by the Swedish company to sell 90,000 pieces every year with 85 percent of total volume for European customers.
