The fans have spoken and have taken a decision that the production model of the production intent Jeep Grand Cherokee Concept that has appeared in the Houston Auto Show in the end of January, 2012 should be called ‘Altitude’. Jeep has said that the competition ‘Name My Ride’ on Facebook was such a success that it has decided to introduce the Altitude package for both the Patriot and the Compass. Mike Manley has also stated that over 100,000 consumers have entered the contest which reinforces the passion behind the brand. He added that the extraordinary response to the concept as well as the contest has resulted to an easy decision which is to produce the ‘blacked-out’ editions of the Grand Cherokee, the Patriot and the Compass.

The common theme for all these models that is to arrive in the Jeep showrooms in May is their murdered-out look. Apart from the black finish, these models will be offered with additional body colours. Available in Brilliant Black, deep cherry red, bright silver metallic, mineral gray, maximum steel etc. the Grand Cherokee gets a gloss black coloured grille surround and alloy wheels of 20 inch, a lower fascia appliqué and other features. This model ranges from $35,595 for 4×2 models. The other Compass Altitude is ranged at $22,190 and $ 23,940 for 4×4 variants. Customers can choose from three colours which include black, deep cherry red, mineral gray and bright white. Finally the cost for the Patriot starts at $20,240 for 4×2 models and $23,275 for all wheel drive systems.
