Subaru has revealed the Outback and Legacy of 2013 before their expected debut in the Auto Show to be held in New York. Updated very modestly, the cars feature a revised grille, new headlights and a front bumper which are also modified. While speaking about the interior, the cabin is featured with updated upholstery, new wood grain trim and an audio system which has been improved. The limited variants also receive air vents at the back and an electro luminescent instrument cluster with a display of 3.5 inch. Underneath the hood, there is the new Boxer engine of 2.5 litre which delivers an output of 173 hp and a torque of 174 lb-ft which is an increase of 3 hp and 4 lb-ft respectively. It can be linked to a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission or a transmission of six speed. The Boxer engine of 3.6 litre produces 256 hp. It is assumed that both these models benefit from the various enhancements in the structure of its body, steering system and suspension. This is little unclear but as said by the company that these changes result in smooth ride and improved handling.

The new updated models show Subaru’s EyeSight driver assist system, with pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning. The new system makes use of a stereo camera so as to provide a detection angle which is claimed to be wider than the systems based on radar. With all these features these models are all set to hit the market. Let us wait to see how these models perform and the weather they are able to satisfy their customers or not. It is expected that it will do well and will come out with flying colours among the customers. Whatever it is we have to wait to see the outcome of these models.
