The Fiat group is planning to extend their 500 range with a crossover variant. This variant is to be called the 500X and will be the fourth model joining the 500 Abarth, 500 three door hatchback, 500L four door hatchback and 500C Convertible. The new model will have the same platform like the 500L and will be a bit longer with 4200mm in length while the roof of this model will also be a bit higher.

The engines in it will also be the same which will include two cylinder 0.9 liter TwinAir and 1.4 liters petrol engines of four cylinder and a turbocharged 1.3 MultiJet II diesel unit. In addition to all this, the new car will offer the basis for a Jeep branded model which is at present called the B-SUV. The production for this model will start in December 2013 in Mirafiori, Turin where it is expected to produce around 280,000 crossovers per year. More details on this are still to come and till then we have to be content with whatever information we have our way. Let us be patient and wait some time more for detailed information on this regard.
