Nissan Australia has declared a fresh limited edition package for Y61 Patrol 4WD this week itself while rejoicing the 50th anniversary of Reg Sprigg’s Simpson Desert in G60 Patrol. Limited to 500 pieces and based on Series 8 ST grade, the anniversary adds $8500 worth extra features at no extra charge. The features which are included are a camera that can be reversed, satellite navigation with Hema tracks, alloy bulbar which is designed newly, driving lights, kick plates, roof bars, bonnet protector, stainless steel wheel cover, air guide, branded cool box of 41 litre.

As per Michael Hill, Australian Senior Model Line Manager of Nissan, Patrol has proved itself for years as a rewarding and dependable four wheel drive and has earned fame as a venerable icon of Nissan. The new 2013 P61G Patrol is to make its debut in Australia this summer and it has been confirmed by the carmaker’s Australian arm that it would continue selling the Y61 along with the new, large and the more civilised model.

Dan Thompson, Nissan Australia’s outgoing CEO has reported to TMR at a preview drive that they will continue selling the Y61 as long as the market demands for it. With P61G sitting top in a very premium section of large SUV segment, the model has a very significant role to play like the D22 in the Navara range. Other details are still to be disclosed but it is expected that we will get to know every minute detail on this very soon and till then we have to keep patience.
