The Ford Motor Company is going to showcase its new Ford Fiesta ST model, at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. This is being done prior to the car’s official launch in Europe in 2013.

The predecessor of this model had disappeared from the showrooms across Europe by the end of 2008. Since then, the customers have been demanding a comeback of the Fiesta in a new avatar. Packed with an 180PS 1.6-litre Eco Boost engine, 240Nm of torque, amazing mileage and top speed of above 220km/h; this car will not be a disappointment. Surpassing every feature is its Eco Boost technology which can reduce CO2 emissions by as much as 20%. Eco friendly cars are the need of the hour.

3 things make the Fiesta ST easy to handle and drive; a specially tuned framework that has been placed 15mm lower than the standard Fiesta, enhanced Torque Vectoring Control system and three Electronic Stability Control modes.

Says Jost Capito who is the Ford’s director of Global Performance Vehicles that this model is going to go way beyond the expectations of the people who have driven the earlier Fiesta. He also mentioned this model as the best Fiesta ST till date.

The interior looks and hi-tech equipments are also worth mentioning. The standard Recaro seats that are popular with sports cars will be a brand new addition to the design. It will also come with a preinstalled application called MC Key, which will help the owner limit the controls and functionalities based on the experience of the person behind the wheel. The SYNC application; Ford’s voice-enabled in-car connectivity system will also be a pro feature in this edition. The exterior design of the car is also impressive but the trapezoidal grille comes as a repetitive element, common to almost all Ford models.

The automobile is due for production in Europe and the responses will decide whether to expand the production over to other continents as well.
