Mercedes has unveiled the new ML 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY which will be available to the Merc fans by the last quarter of 2012.
The car boasts of a turbocharged 4.7-liter (4663cc) V8 engine with direct injection that develops 408 PS (300 kW / 402 hp) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. This vehicle has a smaller displacement when compared to its previous model but it proves to be a better choice for its 16% increased fuel efficiency. Also, the peak torque is more than the standard version. Co2 emission figures for this car are a minimal 0.258 to 0.269 grams per meter.
The car can reach a maximum acceleration of up to 250 km/h. Its seven speed 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission enables the car to increase acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a quick 5.6 seconds gap. Accelerating further, one can reach the maximum speed if the road conditions permit. The V8 engine also comes with a unique start/stop function which distributes power among all the four wheels with the help of its advanced transmission system.
Mercedes has also announced the launch of its 2013 M-Class soon next year which will be having luxury massager seats and Collision Prevention System as its primary features.
The prices will start from €75,029.50, including tax, when it will be available in the showrooms of Germany.
