The Peugeot automobiles have announced that their revolutionary Hybrid 4 powertrain engine will be fitted inside their 508 sedan now after having powered the 5008 cross over and the 508 wagon.

The hybrid powertrain is actually a 2.0 liter HDi diesel engine coupled with a 27 kW electric motor to give a joint output of 200 hp ( that’s a 37 hp leap from the 163 hp provided by the engine alone). This combination allows four selectable driving modes that are the Auto, ZEV, 4WD and Sport. The car has emission free driving option (fully electric) for short distances. It also features a multi function steering wheel, electric parking brakes, parking space measurement system, on board communication and quad zone air conditioning system making it a true sedan class car.

The car incorporates the latest start/stop technology of suspension and the six speed manual transmission modes (electronically controlled) that lower the Co2 emissions to as much as 95g/ km.

The car will be priced at €39,200 in France and at €38,850 in Germany. Customers who have already ordered for their 508 sedan are expected to be receiving it by the end of summer this year.
