Toyota has announced plans to launch an electric iQ in December. It will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show.

Exterior: The model is based on the FT-EV III concept .It makes striking use of dual-tone, with its white pearl and black color creating a simple, bold design.

The front has a smooth and simple surface structure. The upper grille has been removed and is replaced with a charging port lid to one side of the Toyota badge. For maximum ease of charging the port lid it has been positioned at the very front of the vehicle. Allowing it to be charged at the available places with ease. The rear design features a black tailgate and a new, LED combination lamp design.

Interior: The interior has a high contrast, black and white color scheme. It comes with an Optitron metres styled to resemble electrical componentry such as a generator turbine and printed circuitry. The central speedometer has a EV System Indicator-linked changing color illumination. Also a 3.5″ TFT (Thin Film Transistor) multi-information display, a compact, high contrast LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and a plug-in indicator are present.

Power: The electric motor develops 64 HP (47 kW)

Torque: 163 Nm (120 lb-ft).

Maximum speed: It will enable the model to hit a top speed of 125 km/h (78 mph) and travel up to 100 km (62 miles) on a single charge.

Battery recharge: When the battery is depleted, it can be fully recharged in approximately three to eight hours.

Scheduled to be launched in 2013, the Atkinson cycle engine will be equipped with the D-4S system. Toyota says it will have the “world’s highest maximum thermal efficiency of 38.5 percent, realizing both high fuel efficiency and high output.”
