Volkswagen showed off its new Caddy. The Caddy Cross at the IAA Commercial Vehicles show in Hanover on 17th September. It will join the off-road theme of Volkswagen, joining the likes of Polo, Golf and Touran. It is based on the Caddy Edition 30, which was launched last year.

The new model looks sturdy. It comes with protective armor with plastic moldings for the wheels arches, lower parts of the front and rear bumpers and the side sills. The vehicle looks menacing with the green exterior paint which has been borrowed from the Sirocco. Though customers can choose between one of the eight hues available. The beast in motion also boasts of undercarriage guards. There’s also the side protection bars on the sills.

The specialty of The Caddy Cross includes the use of tinted glass along with 17-inch alloy wheels, silver roof rails. The raised suspension completes the exterior look.

The interior looks well-finished , the front seats are blended in tones of green and grey , there’s grey stitching for the leather covered handbrake lever and the gear knob and the steering wheel , also featuring the height and length adjustable armrest .

The Cross Caddy will available across Europe early in 2013. It offered either as a five- or seven-seater with a short wheel base. the MPV will be sold with all the varying lineup of engines, which include the TDI, TSI, LPG and natural gas power units , whose outputs vary between 85 hp (63 kW) to 168 hp (125 kW). In addition, Volkswagen also plans to sell the different versions with the company’s 4MOTION four-wheel drive system as well as the DSG transmission.

The vehicle looks as smart move by VW, which encompasses style over substance with ease.
