The latest Honda Accord is all set to provide craftsmanship coupled with athleticism. It provides remarkable hybrid efficiency and torque. The 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid-a Sedan-(PHEV) will be up for sale from early 2013 onwards.

The car provides first-rate technology, capacious cabin, it can also run in all-electric mode if intended for a 10 to 15 miles run and for a total driving range of 500 miles.

The regular Accord body has undergone various changes to reduce its weight, to improve its aerodynamic efficiency and its rolling resistance to be able to transform into Accord PHEV. These changes have been made to enable the drivers optimize the driving range from the electrical and gasoline usage.

The car has aluminium hood, brake pedal, front subframe, and a 17 inch aluminium wheels- all this to reduce its weight. There have also been aerodynamic changes made that include decklid spoiler at the back, powertrain undercover, aerodynamic wheel covers and also cabin floor undercovers. The reductions that have been made in the rolling resistance include low-friction ball bearings and low ‘rolling-resistance’ tyres.

The interiors look every bit of a premium class. It features Honda Bio Fabric seat wrappings- this fabric offers softness and is durable. It is called ‘Bio Fabric” because it produces less impact on the environment.

The car provides HondaLink EV which is a smartphone application that helps the owners remotely charge the Li-Ion battery, pre-warm an pre-cool the interiors, and monitor the charging.

The powertrain includes an i-VTEC (2 litre), four cylinder Atkinson-cycle engine, gasoline-driven that is coupled with a two-motor hybrid-drive configuration. This engine can generate a maximum of 137 hp. When combined with the two-motor hybrid-drive system it can generate an output of 196 hp. When the car is operated in the gasoline mode it is expected to provide the best fuel economy among all mid-size sedans.
