After releasing the concept two weeks ago on 9th September, Ssanygyong has officially launched the e-XIV. It stands for eXciting user Interface Vehicle, electric car concept.

Exterior: It has a 4,160mm long, 1,790mm wide and 1,575mm high, with a 2,600mm wheelbase. The car has got a glass roof, but those solar cell panels supply pollution free energy to the battery. This battery system includes an integrated 12 solar cell panel for generating solar power. This helps to operate the car’s auxiliary systems, also providing greater light, more spatial comfort to the cabin and improved visibility.

Interior: The interior structure evokes the sporty style of a crossover. It blends a mix of styling cues and materials, which include carbon fiber. The instrument cluster communicates with the driver using dynamic graphics, and enables active communication between car and driver by displaying necessary information on the centre facia in real time.

Engine: glass roof solar panel converts solar energy to electric power. The car also features a range extending system comprising a two-cylinder 1,000cc petrol engine and a 20-kW generator. Once the 80km distance is reached, the petrol engine turns on and provides additional power via the generator to extend the range up to 600km, emitting only 45g/km of CO2.
