Ever since Jaguar had to let go the E-type machine, it has been a declining story. The E-type was the engine what made the jaguar it was in the 1970s.

Ford forced it to use the X-type engines. It didn’t work. When it was acquired along with the Land Rover by TATA from India, a change in the thinking process was noticed soon. Jaguar started concentrating on its British designed and built vehicle, along with minimizing the quality constraints in the vehicle.

The new Jaguar F-type is a testimony top that. Ian Callum, the chief designer for Jaguar says, “A piece of design should tell a story and this is why every line in the F-Type has a start, a direction and a conclusion.” He added, “if you approach every line individually and get it as aesthetically correct as possible, get the dimensions right, it will stand the test of time.”

Exterior: The body of the new Jaguar has aluminum throughout its structure. This has resulted in a lighter car with proportional weight distribution. Underneath we find aluminum double-wishbone front and rear suspensions. They are coupled with adaptive dampers, which deliver superb handling balanced with ride comfort. Overall weight is about 3,521 pounds.

Engine: Based on the engine the F-Type will be available in three primary models, with varying levels of performance.

Base F-Types come powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6, which generates a power of 340 horsepower and overall torque of 332 pound-feet. The base F-Type can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.1 seconds. Maximum speed achieved is up to 161 mph.

F-Type S models make 380 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque from the same supercharged 3.0-liter V-6, and The F-Type S model packs the punch from 0-60 seconds in 4.8 seconds. The maximum speed is up to 171 mph.

F-Type V8 S models make 495 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque from a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8. The F-Type V8 S vrooms to 60 mph from rest in just 4.2 seconds and has a maximum speed of 186 mph.

Instead of Jaguar’s usual gear selector knob, all models have a eight-speed ‘Quickshift’ automatic transmission, with both paddle shifters and a centrally mounted gear selector lever. The models also benefit from an “Active Exhaust” and an available “Configurable Dynamics” program that includes features like a lap timer and a G-meter display.

Te prices in UK starts from £58,500. The US prices will be announced soon.
