A new potent model, potent model is the SLS AMG GT F1, is going to replace the regular Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG .The SLS AMG has proven to be more than capable of being the official safety car in Formula 1. The new model comes with a host of upgrades. The new model will take over the role from this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix onwards.

To start with, the GT puts out 583bhp from its 6.2-litre V8 (up 20bhp) and features a retuned dual-clutch gearbox which gives improved shift times. These changes have allowed it vroom from 0-62mph sprint time, in just 3.7 seconds, reducing the time by almost one second. The maximum speed that can be achieved has been limited to 197mph.

Additional the car benefits with the faster gear shifts from the seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch transmission. It also features latest AMG RIDE CONTROL electronically-adjustable suspension damping system

Another addition is the Ride Control. It replaces the three-mode system on the current car and is claims to offer an aggressive suspension tuning with improved dynamics.

Exterior: It is identical its predecessor and has darkened head and tail lamp lenses. It now has a glossy black finish to the fins and grille-mounted Mercedes badge

Interior: Inside, the steering wheel receives a coating of Alcantara, while a glossy black finish adorns the dials and sections of the dashboard and centre console.

As always, the main role of the F1 safety car is to help ensure maximum safety for the field of drivers is maintained in extreme situations. As soon as Race Control considers that the safe progress of the race may be impeded, such as during poor weather or if there’s a crash, it sends the safety car out.

A production version of the SLS GT will be unveiled at the Paris motor show, before arriving in UK showrooms in November.
