The Mazda6 Wagon was recently launched at the Paris Motor Show.

Exterior: The new Mazda6 has a longer wheelbase, measuring 2830mm compared to the, 2725mm of its predecessor.

Shoulder-room have been increased by 20mm, while rear knee-room is up by 43mm over the outgoing model .The overall rear leg-room has increased by 37mm.

Interior: Other features include a 3.5-inch multi-information display in the instrument cluster, along with a five-inch display in the centre panel.

It also comes with new KODO, which Mazda calls the ‘Soul of Motion design theme’. It also features a range of advanced safety technologies.

The safety features include high-beam control, adaptive front lights, hill-launch assist, rear vehicle monitoring, lane departure warning and smart city brake support. The safety airbags is also present.

Engine: It comes with the SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel engine. It is available in either Standard Power or High Power versions. The petrol variants include the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 and SKYACTIV-G 2.5 direct injection gasoline engines.

The fuel consumption of the 2.0 liter engine is as low as 5.9 l/100km, while the 2.5 liter engine’s uses 6.4 l/100km. You’ll pay for that efficiency however, with both engines running on premium unleaded petrol.

Other Features: i-ELOOP, Mazda’s unique brake energy regeneration system will also feature in the new car. The specialty of this is thatrecovers kinetic energy as the vehicle decelerates, which the alternator uses to generate electricity that is then sent to the capacitor.

The stored energy is then used to power the vehicle’s climate control, audio system and other electrical features. The system will also charge the vehicle’s battery when necessary. Mazda’s i-stop system will also feature.

It will be available in Europe and Japan by the year end.
