The Honda Civic Type-R 2015 is in the news. There are new reports that are emerging, which are letting out details about this model. Auto Express has reported that this car is going to be even more powerful than what was originally expected but this Honda car will not be manufactured next year.

What has been procured from the sources is that, this model will be featuring a turbocharged 1.6 litre capacity petrol engine equipped with direct injection. This engine will supposedly generate 186 kW (250 bhp) of power. This engine could be linked to an all new eight-speed twin-clutch automatic gearbox. This transmission is still under development.

This car has been given a specific weight of not more than 1200 kg (2,645 lbs). Honda expects that their latest offering will be able to secure, for being the quickest and the fastest FWD model, an all-new Nurburgring race track lap record.

As one may recall, the current record for this is held by Megane RS Trophy that made a record in 8 minutes and 8 seconds.

Takanobu Ito (Honda Chief Executive Officer) has stated at the Paris Motor Show that this new Civic Type-R will be ready for dealerships in 2015.
