Italian car manufacturer Ermini is remembered by few. The auto maker was once famous for its cars the Ermini 1100 Sport, the Ermini Sport Corsa and the Ermini 357 Sport. Now after fifty years they have decided to make a comeback with the 686 model. The launch of that will be by the end of 2013.

Ermini was founded by Pasquale Ermini, who hailed from Leccio near Florence. His company was famous for the sports car of the 40 and 50s, and had won many championships during its heydays. The company met with an uneventful end, with the demise of Ermini in 1958. The workshop for the car was finally closed in 1962. Well come 2013 will see the revival of the brand, which offers a welcome change from the current crop of racing cars.

The body of the car is being styled in collaboration with Giulio Cappellini and the design team of Ermini. The photographs of the car reveal that will be inspired by the brand’s iconic car, the 357. It raced during the Mille Miglia during the 1950s.

The car being developed by the Florence based company is a rear-engine, all-wheel drive sports car. It will have a refined suspension and a tubular space frame.

It’s thought that carbon fiber will be used extensively throughout the bodywork, which will insure that the car is not very heavy.

No details regarding the engine of the car has been revealed yet.
