The Jaguar F-Type (2013) sports car is a convertible that has been unveiled by the company at the Paris Motor Show, 2012.

This convertible is the automaker’s first venture into the two-seater variants since the unveiling of the E-type some 50 years back. Even at that time, the E-type drew a lot of attention and admiration from its customers, therefore t can be safely thought that the F-type too will be able to acquire the same kind of consideration from its customers if not more.

The car maker has declared that they took cues from the fighter planes in designing this car- the F-type-and also that they refer to the word ‘cockpit’ when denoting the driver and passenger segment in the car.

Many of the car’s metal components are made from recycled materials. Its body is manufactured using bonded aluminium.

The aviation cues can be heavily found in this car. The gear shift knob which manages the car’s eight-speed transmission is made of the shape of a plane’s joystick.

This car provides three variants of supercharged engines. The basic option is a 3.0 liter capacity V6 engine that can generate up to 340 HP and a peak torque of 332 pounds-feet. This engine helps the car to accelerate from rest to a speed of 60 mph in 5.1 seconds. This car has a top speed of 161 mph.

The other option is the F-type S which too has a V6 3.0 liter engine that can generate a power of 380 HP. This engine lets the car do a 0-60 mph sprint in 4.8 secs. This car has a maximum speed of 171 mph.

The F-type V8 S is the most powerful option. This engine is a 5.0 liter, V8 engine that generates 495 HP and a peak torque of 460 pounds-feet. The car takes 4.2 seconds to accelerate from rest to a speed of 60 mph. the car has a top speed of 186 mph.
