Recently, there have been speculations about Lotus axing the latest Esprit. However, newest reports indicate at a different scenario. This model still seems to be gearing for the production phase.

There were other five models that were seen present at the Paris Motor Show in 2010. Unfortunately, plans of launching those models have been scrapped by the firm’s newest Malaysian owners.

Aslam Farikullah, who is DRB-HICOM’s chief operating officer, affirmed this week that all the number British jobs, 1,189 in total, at Lotus will be kept. He also announced that the company will concentrate more on enhancing the quality level of Exige, Evora and Elise models.

There is a bad news regarding Lotus. The model seems to be at a trying situation as this year they have coped to deliver a little more than 800 units only. This figure is an extremely weak number for the respectable British carmaker. To compensate for this a few merchandise stores were released in exclusive high-class areas, which includes London’s West End.

However these efforts on the carmaker’s part still seem insufficient and therefore Lotus needs to make sustained hard work to make any improvements in its current situation. Esprit thus seems to be make changes for the better.
