Toyota is planning to charter ground again in the compact commercial vehicles segment. This new entrant is known by the name of ProAce. Toyota and the PSA Group (Peugoet-Citroen) have newly ventured together of which the ProAce is the first product. These partners’ next venture will be a car smaller in size than the ProAce and will make its appearance as a passenger and commercial van in the year 2015.

This vehicle has its base in Peugeot Expert and Citroen Jumpy. It maintains the dimensions of its French contemporaries, but this all-new ProAce features modified details and has Toyota’s patent front grille, wheels, rear doors, and interior.

This car is obtainable in three versions known as Panel Van, Crew Cab and Glass Van and will have a load size of 5m3, 7m3 and 6m3 respectively and a towing capacity of 1200 kg.

This new version of the car will be equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS) along with brakeforce distribution, regular daytime-lights and VSC aka Vehicle stability control, which is the regular safety features.

This model will provide its buyers with three diesel engines. The basic version of the engine will have a capacity of 1.6l that will generate a power of 90 PS and a torque of 180 Nm. This engine can be connected to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There are also two other 2.0 liter capacity engines- that produce a power of 128PS along with 320 Nm torque and 163PS along with 340 Nm. These engines can be connected to 6-speed manual transmissions.

This vehicle is slated to go for sale in the first quarter of the year 2013 through the network of European Toyota retailer. The deliveries are speculated to start in the second quarter of the same year. The price of this car will be released before its launch.
