A sports version of The Volkswagen Up! , is likely to come up in 2013. It was revealed by the R&D head, of the German manufacturer, Mr. Ulrich Hackenberg, at the Paris Motor Show. It will be based on the Up GT concept, revealed in 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The car is supposed to be larger and more spacious than the current Up! model.

The engine of the new Up! GT is supposed to be the same as its predecessor. The 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder engine. The Engine is linked to a six-speed manual transmission. It is likely to generate a power of 109 horsepower and a maximum torque of 120 lb-ft (162Nm).

Other changes over the standard model will include updated sports seats and suspension. A low-mounted grille. They will be flanked by large intakes and LED DRLs.The car will be placed on 17-inch alloy wheels. It’s supposed to come with a twin-exhaust tip at the rear, side skirts and a roof-mounted rear spoiler. It will feature a more aggressive body kit.

Mr. Hackenberg also said that an all-electric variant will also be launched in 2013, along with an EV version of the Golf VII.
