The latest offering from Ford has been the Ford Transit Connect Wagon which gives the basic experience of driving like a car, but has the strength and robust framework that helps the vehicle pull a load of a pickup truck.

Ford Company’s President of the Americas, Mark Fields has stated “Transit Connect Wagon gives young families and people on the go the fun-to-drive and efficient vehicle they’ve been looking for.” He also added, “It’s an all-new, smaller seven-seater that has better mileage than larger vans and creates a segment of its own. Customers also will love the unique combination of style, adaptability and affordability this wagon brings.”

This car has 2 wheelbase lengths meant for vehicle configurations for five and seven passenger carriers. The series has levels named XL, XLT and Titanium. This vehicle provides the convenience of folding the seats and carrying a load of 1200 pounds.

The car provides two options for engines. One can equip it with a fuel-saving 4-cylinder engine that has a capacity of 2.5 litres and another 1.6 liter capacity EcoBoost fuel-saving engine. These two engines have been touted as able to deliver 30 mpg-plus on the freeway.

Both these engines can be linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox for more responsiveness. The car comes packed with features such as full-glass panoramic roof, 6.5-in touchscreen display along with navigation, rear view camera, and SYNC with MyFord Touch which is the highly celebrated voice-activated entertainment and communication system.

The windshield defroster which is automatically controlled is another important feature of this vehicle. It also provides a ‘child observation’ mirror that helps parents to keep a check on their children placed at the third and fourth row of seats.

The vehicle will appear in the dealerships at North America in the last quarter of the next year.
